Why Is A Mentor Necessary To Succeed At Forex (FX) Currency Trading? (Part II)

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

A Forex mentor is by far the best way to go when attempting to learn Forex trading. This particular type of trading is becoming increasingly popular and there are many sources of help and information widely available. Some of this information is contradictory so it is understandable that a novice would have a hard time sifting through it all in order to find what will work best for him and how he should go about getting started in the fine art of Forex trading.

By engaging the services of a Forex trading mentor rather than purchasing a one-size fits all course, you are providing yourself with a jump-start to your Forex trading education. If your overall goal is to learn Forex trading, a mentor is a great way to go, mentors have years of their own trading experiences to share with you in addition to methods of learning that may deviate from the general courses that are marketed to mass audiences. Even better, mentors teach and guide you as an individual rather than one of the masses. They want you to succeed and will present the information over and over until it clicks with you.

Why Is A Mentor Necessary To Succeed At Forex (FX) Currency Trading?

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Forex (foreign exchange) trading, which is buying one currency while concurrently selling another, is getting a considerable amount of press as an attractive alternative to trading on the stock exchange. Among the reasons of Forex trading becoming a popular alternative is that Forex provides a 24-hour market, lower transaction fees, and no one entity can corner the market because of its sheer vastness. The drawback is that it is not easy to learn Forex trading on your own. While it can be done, the lessons can be relatively expensive.

A Forex mentor will help you learn the ropes of Forex currency trading. With so many people out there offering the same service with different methods of delivery, how do you determine which method of learning is best for you?

With all the e-courses, videos, books, and seminars that are easily available online and offline for a price, it is difficult for you as the consumer to guess which one will be the one that clicks for you. You have to examine several options before purchasing one that works and some people go through several methods and never find one that actually helps them learn Forex trading. While this is not rocket science, it can be quite confusing and a little knowledge can be more dangerous and expensive than a true education.

I’m not saying that a four-year degree is necessary, nor are college courses in Forex trading, but

Would You Like To Forex Or DayTrade?

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Online trading is great way for serious investors to make money, but inexperienced traders often wind up with big losses. A good set of instructions can minimize the risks and save months of expensive trial-and-error learning.

Day Trading

Day Trading had its heyday during the bull market of the 1990’s. All the amateurs have since dropped out, but day trading is still being practiced by professionals. There are fewer opportunities in the current market, but skilled investors can still find them if they know what to look for.

FOREX Trading

The Foreign Exchange Market (FOREX), the world’s largest financial exchange market, originated in 1973. It has a daily turnover of currency worth more than $1.2 trillion dollars.

Unlike many other securities, FOREX does not trade on a fixed exchange rate; instead, currencies are traded primarily between central banks, commercial banks, various non-banking international corporations, hedge funds, personal investors and not to forget, speculators. Previously, smaller investors were excluded from FOREX due to the huge amount of deposit involved. This was changed in 1995, and now smaller investors can trade alongside the multi-nationals. As a result, the number of traders within the FOREX market has grown rapidly, and many FOREX courses are appearing to help individual traders increase their skills.

As a matter of fact, it’s advisable to take FOREX training even before opening a trading account.
It is vital to know the market mechanics of FOREX, leveraging in FOREX………You can Read more Here

Why Forex Is A Better Investment Idea Than Stocks or Commodities

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Forex, the Foreign Exchange Market, is a worldwide market for buying and selling foreign currencies. The major currencies that are traded include the U.S. Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), British Pound (GBP), Canadian Dollar (CAD), Australian Dollar (AUD), Japanese Yen (JPY), and the Swiss Franc (CHF). The purpose of this article is not to go into the details of how Forex works, but to compare the benefits of trading in the Forex market versus trading the Equity (American stocks) or Futures markets (Commodities).

The Forex market is the largest market in the world with over 2 trillion dollars traded every day. This compares to the 200 billion dollars traded daily in the Equity and Futures market each. Because of this, the Forex market benefits from fairer prices, price stability, and better trade execution.

Forex has the advantage of being open 24 hours a day. The Forex market opens on Sunday afternoon and remains open until it closes on Friday afternoon. The Equity and Futures markets are only open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. This gives Forex traders the opportunity to trade around their personal schedule. Also, liquidity in the Equity and Futures markets are reduced after regular trading hours.

When trading Forex, you will not incur the commissions or transaction fees that exist in the Equity and Futures markets. You pay a spread on the currency pair you are trading and costs are very low, especially when compared to the other markets.

Investment leverage in the Forex market can be as high as a 200:1 margin. In the Equity and Futures markets……..You can Read more Here

What’s The Fuzz About E-Currency Trading

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

You keep hearing about this money making system that requires no selling, only an hour a day (max) and no special skill.

Yeah right.

At least that’s the first impression for someone who has been in the internet for a while.

Enter E-Currency Trading.

What if you were able to provide the liquid capital for “Internet Money” so that it could be used with as a backup or “real money”?

You can make around 1.5% to 4% in daily interests on your capital for doing that. My eyes almost popped out. You can gain coumpounding interest for a starting investment as little as 50 bucks.

Depending on your background, it may be a little hard to believe that you can take $100 and turn them into $800 in less than 45 days. I’m 21 years old and it was tough for me to believe it. You’re actually putting your money to work. Yep, it happens. And it takes no special skill. After all, your money is the one doing all the hard work.

There is a downside, of course. It’s a very complex system to grasp……..You can Read more Here

What’s the Difference of Trading Mini Lots Vs. Full-sized Lots in Forex.

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

In Forex trading there is something called, a Mini Account, and it uses a different leverage calculation than a regular (100k) account. This is, instead of trading full-size currency lots (100,000 units), you’ll trade in lots that are just 1/10 the size (10,000 currency units), which in turn greatly reduces your risk. Pips in a Mini Account are worth, on average, $1 instead of the $8 to $10 value they have in a regular account.

The Mini Forex account offers up to 200:1 leverage, this means that just a $50 margin deposit will allow you to trade lots worth roughly $10,000 , but the smaller lot sizes, with correspondingly smaller pip values, means that you’ll be assuming less total risk. For example, while a 20-pip loss on a 100,000 USD/JPY position would be $200, the same loss on a 10,000 USD/JPY position in a Mini account would amount to $20.

Here you have an overview of leverage (Margin, Account Size) on each of the two accounts discussed above:

100K (Regular Full-sized Account)
- Minimum required account deposit = $2,000
- Recommended required account deposit = $5,000 to $10,000
- Traded in 100,000-unit currency lots
- Default Margin: set at 1% ($1,000 per lot)
- Leverage = 100:1 or 50:1 (if margin is set at 2%)

What’s Fibonacci Forex Trading?

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Fibonacci forex trading is the basis of many forex trading systems used by a great number of professional forex brokers around the globe, and many billions of dollars are profitable traded every year based on these trading techniques.

Fibonacci was an Italian mathematician and he is best remembered by his world famous Fibonacci sequence, the definition of this sequence is that it’s formed by a series of numbers where each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers; 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 …But in the case of currency trading what is more important for the forex trader is the Fibonacci ratios derived from this sequence of numbers, i.e. .236, .50, .382, .618, etc.

These ratios are mathematical proportions prevalent in many places and structures in nature, as well as in many man made creations.

Forex trading can greatly benefit from this mathematical proportions due to the fact that the oscillations observed in forex charts, where prices are visibly changing in an oscillatory pattern, follow Fibonacci ratios very closely as indicators of resistance and support levels; maybe not to the last cent, but ……..You can Read more Here

What Is Forex? - Part 2

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

It may come as a shock to the investment rookie, but Forex is the largest market in the world. Forex is an abbreviated form of the term Foreign Exchange, or simply currency. These terms refer to the monetary value of one country’s money value (as measured by the country’s largest single-value denomination) and is usually measured in comparison to the unit of currency used by the country in which the investor is a citizen.

The measure by which Forex is considered the largest market is in terms of cash value traded, and it is used by every type of investment imaginable, from individuals (who use brokers or banks) to governments to international banking firms. Forex is extremely popular due to its extreme liquidity and its time capacity (with three large stock markets open day long during the week, it is possible to exchange foreign currency at every hour of the day). Liquidity is a term that is short for market liquidity, which refers to the ability to quickly buy or sell without causing a dramatic fluctuation in price. As currency for countries is determined mostly by internal (domestic) factors rather than external ones, Forex is not subject to the fluxes caused by a panicked sell-off.

Forex speculators are a controversial topic among economists and politicians alike. One school of thought posits that currency speculation can contribute to a country’s economic downfall, as a lower currency value causes the price of inflation in comparison to imported goods to rise, snowballing the problem. Countries that are primarily exporters to a country with a higher currency value, however, receive benefits when their dollar is lowered in comparison, as their goods are thus inherently easier to purchase. The opposing view to the speculators…….You can Read more Here

Why use a Mini Forex account.

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

The world of Forex trading, due to its very high profitability potential, has attracted a lot of people around the world to enter the Forex market. The Forex market as compared to other capital markets has many other advantages.

But one of the main worries of the new trader is if he will need lots of money in order to be able to access this market and start placing trades. However, with the convenience of the Internet, anyone can enter the forex markets and place trades. In reality, you don’t need to be super-rich or the owner of a big corporation to enter the Forex market, you just need a few dollars and the right strategy to start profiting from Forex trading.

In the Forex world there is something called a Mini Account, and it uses a different leverage calculation than a regular (100k) account. This means that instead of trading full-size currency lots (100,000 units), you’ll trade in lots that are just 1/10 the size (10,000 currency units), which in turn greatly reduces the amount of money you risk in each trade you enter. In a regular account, pips are worth $8 to $10 value but in a Mini Account they are worth, on average, $1 . The Mini Forex account offers up to a huge 200:1 leverage, this means that just a $50 margin deposit will allow you to trade lots worth roughly $10,000. The smaller lot sizes, with correspondingly smaller pip values, means that you’ll be profiting less from a successful trade and also losing less if the trade goes bad . What Are The Order Types Used By Forex Traders?

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

During the last decade, Forex trading has become one of the most attractive business opportunities to ever hit people’s interest around the world. Every day people from many walks in life is actively considering entering the profitable world of the currency markets due to its accessibility and trading characteristics.

One of the first things you will do once you decide you want to enter and learn about the forex markets will be to choose your forex broker and then download the free trading platform software from your broker website.

When you first open your trading station software, you will find that there are a number of ways to enter the market or, said in another way, there are a number of ways to place an initial order to buy or sell any currency pair.

One of these types of orders is what is called a “Market order”; this is an order to buy or sell a currency pair at the market price considering the instant that the order is received and processed (which is usually within seconds of hitting the “OK” button on your trading platform). When a market order is placed, you are simply saying “I’ll buy or sell the currency pair at whatever price it is at when my order gets processed.”

What Are the Hidden Odds of Trading

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Anyone who is vaguely familiar with gambling knows that the house has the odds in their favor. Do some people leave a casino with large winnings? Yes, but that’s because they left before they lost it back to the casino. If they had won and then continued to play long enough it is a mathematical certainty that would lose all of it back to the house. I watched a program one time about a group of students from MIT that had developed a system to beat the odds in blackjack. The program stated they had won large amounts of money before they all were blacklisted from the casinos. The system they used involved waiting to place large bets only when the cards were in their favor.

This system works, it’s called card counting and others have used it to win in blackjack also. By placing minimum bets on almost all the hands played they controlled their losses. When the cards left in the deck were in their favor they would place large bets and win most of the hands. During this streak of winning they would make up their losses and turn a profit. When a new stack of cards is brought out to the table they would leave and cash out because with the introduction of a new stack of cards the odds swing back in favor of the house.

Use These 3 Simple Guidelines to Boost Forex Profits

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

FOREX trading is nothing more than direct access trading of different types of foreign currencies. In the past, foreign exchange trading was mostly limited to large banks and institutional traders. Recent technological advancements have made it so that small traders can also take advantage of the many benefits of FOREX trading by using the various online trading platforms.

FOREX markets possess unique attributes that offer unmatched potential for profitable trading in any market or any stage of the business cycle. For starters, FOREX trading boasts a 24-hour market, giving traders the chance to take advantage of profitable market conditions anytime. Secondly, the FOREX market is the most liquid market in the world. FOREX traders can enter or exit the market whenever they want, during almost any market condition. There also exist minimal execution barriers or risk and no daily trading limits.

For all the advantages of the FOREX market, one glaring weakness emerges. The FOREX market is seen as unregulated although the operations of major dealers, like commercial banks in money centers, are regulated under the banking laws. The daily operations of retail FOREX brokerages are not regulated under any laws or regulations specific to the FOREX market. Many of these types of establishments in the United States, don’t even report to the I.R.S. To make the most of the explosive potential of successful FOREX trading, individuals should follow these guidelines.

Understanding What Influences Forex Prices

Monday, May 10th, 2010

This article will explain some of the differences between Technical Analysis and Fundamentals and explain a bit about each type of trading. Excerpts are taken from the best-selling book ‘Market Wizards’ where Jack Schwager interviews Ed Seykota and Bruce Kovner.

Ed is a trend trader (uses technical analysis) and also relies on hunches from 20 years of experience. He definitely emphasizes his reliance on technical analysis. While reading this, I liken, the ‘hunches’ to knowing the effect fundamentals can have on a market although I could be mistaken, they could be purely from reading lots of charts so well. Here are is exact words “Fundamentals that you read about are typically useless as the market has already discounted the price, and I call them ‘funny-mentals.’ However, if you catch on early, before others believe, then you might have valuable ‘surprise-a-mentals.’”

Ed says his priorities when trading are the long term trend, the current charts and picking a good spot to buy or sell, in that order.

Bruce says technical is awesome and very useful but by no means disregards fundamentals.

The forex market uses margins to increase your profits

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Forex is a nickname for the foreign exchange, a vast market of trading in which the commodity is money itself. In the forex market, traders are buying and selling foreign currencies — trading dollars for euros, pounds for yen, and so forth.

Forex is profitable because national currencies fluctuate from day to day based on predictions of the nation’s gross domestic product and other factors. As with the stock market, the idea with the forex is to buy low and sell high: Buy a lot of a particular currency when it’s weak, then sell it when it becomes stronger.

For example, bad financial news in Great Britain means that forex traders will be selling off their British pounds as fast as possible, as the pound is about to become devalued. Once the pound recovers, those traders will sell it for something else, thus turning a profit.

Though we talk of “buying” and “selling” pounds, euros, yen and francs, the transactions performed in the forex are not literal. That is, if you want to buy 100,000 euros, you don’t have to withdraw the equivalent U.S. dollars from your bank account and swap them out for a big stack of euros.

Everything is done on paper only, though the resulting profits and losses are real.
Because the transactions are not done physically, there is room in the forex for what are called “margins” or “leverage.” Put simply, this means you don’t have to actually put up the full amount of the position you’re taking. Usually the margin is 1%, meaning that when you put $1,000 into it, you’re actually getting $100,000. Of course, margins multiply your losses as well as your profits, so you have to be careful.

One of the reasons for allowing a 100:1 margin like this is that the major world currencies in the forex market usually fluctuate less than 1% a day. (In the stock market, a typical stock might fluctuate as much as 10% in one day.) With changes that small, your daily loss or gain on an initial investment of $1,000 would be almost imperceptible, usually less than $10 either way. By multiplying it by 100, the gains and losses in the forex market are more pronounced.

With leverage implemented that way, the basic “lot” for buying and selling currencies is usually 100,000 (which of course only costs 1,000). Most firms that handle day-trading on the forex market don’t go any lower than that.
